This MAb is highly specific to type II collagen and shows no cross-reaction with types I, III, IV, V, VI, IX, X, or XI. In Western blotting, 2B1.5 MAb reacts with the TCB fragment of pepsin-digested type II collagen after digestion with mammalia n collagenase. It also reacts with lathyritic type II collagen.
